CIRCLE IN

IDEAS

Starting a meeting with a circle-in question (also called check-in or opening question) can be helpful for several reasons:
  • Connect with each other on a personal level, which can help build trust and rapport within the group.
  • Set the tone for the meeting by encouraging a positive, supportive, and collaborative atmosphere.
  • By inviting each participant to share their thoughts and feelings, check-in questions can encourage engagement and active participation throughout the meeting.
  • Provide valuable insights into the participants' current state of mind, which can help the facilitator tailor the meeting to address their needs and concerns.
  • By starting with a more open-ended and creative question, check-in questions can help stimulate creativity and innovative thinking within the group.
